14 members enjoyed fabulous weather on a tour of Whitbarrow Reserve and Scar. The route took us through woodland until approaching the village of Row we stopped for lunch as the view opened up of Scout Scar. Beyond Row we started to head back, following Whitbarrow Scar where the views of the Lake District and Morecambe Bay were perfect and then onto Yewbarrow. The Derby Arms provided welcome refreshment on what was a very hot day. The group’s many fitness trackers and GPS devices disagreed about mileage and ascent but all suggested that it was a bigger walk than Sue’s eye to map non-tech estimation. We sweltered in long trousers but no tick incidents have been reported…yet! thanks Sue and Kevin.
