Five of us and one well behaved dog, left Cononley on the train to Gargrave, changing at Skipton. It was a nice start to the walk, and even better when it was free – the conductor never came round to collect our fare!!!! After leaving Gargrave, we followed the pennine way across the WET fields to East Marton where we joined up with the MUDDY canal path. After having lunch in a field with sheep and lambs, we carried on the Pennine way up to the top of a blustery Pin-haw Beacon – but with brilliant views. From there we dropped down going east, and made our MUDDY way back to Cononley. It was great to walk in a different area but would be best done in drier weather. Thanks Humph.
