Troutbeck walk Sunday 24th February 2019

posted in: Walking | 0

Despite the forecast of only a 20% chance of mountain views on Sunday, 10 members of CMC and Smeagol, a Patterdale terrier belonging to Joanne, Brian’s daughter, set out from Church Bridge, near Town End, Troutbeck, to walk up to the Garburn Pass enjoying the sunniest and clearest part of the day. The party then climbed Yoke , Ill Bell, Froswick and Thornthwaite Crag before descending via The Rake to Hagg Gill and continuing along the valley to the east of Troutbeck Tongue to Town Head for a beer in the Queen’s Head. Shaun, giving his shorts an early outing, made a detour to the top of Troutbeck Tongue to tick off another Wainwright! Thanks Godfrey.
