Stanage Edge, Derbyshire – Sunday 11th September

The week the BBC broadcast their Breakfast programme from Stanage was the week we chose to climb there. Were we influenced in our decision? The rest of the world was – it was HEAVING!
Stanage is the UK’s longest inland cliff and there should be room for lots of climbers but after queuing for routes on High Neb buttress, we decided to head for a quieter sector further west. The Cosmic Crack area was a good choice and we enjoyed a series of excellent, steep and well-protected cracklines, classic gritstone!
