Holcombe Moor/Peel Tower walk 26th November 2023

On a very cold Sunday morning 9 of us left a parking spot just near the Toby Inn on Broadhead Road near Edgeworth, we headed out towards Musbury Heights, round Tor Hill then passing Holcomb moor we arrived at Peel Tower. This was our lunch stop after which Brian treated us all to a trip up the tower and see and enjoy the great views all around, Peel Tower was built in memory of Sir Robert Peel founder of the Police Force, The Tower was completed in 1852, cost £1000.00 to build, is 128ft high and has 148 steps!! After leaving the tower we skirted round Hercles Hill past the rifle ranges back to the cars, where we called in at the pub for refreshments and a warm up by the fire. Thanks to Phil.
