Great Whernside 10th February 2022

posted in: Walking | 0

We had a good turnout of 17 enthusiastic walkers on a very cold wintry walk up Great Whernside, setting off from Kettlewell we walked up to the trig via Hags Dyke where we stopped off for a welcome brew, the nearer we got to the top the windier it became with the added hail shower pitting into our faces! We had a quickly taken photo at the top for Jackie as proof and another one ticked off her Yorkshire Dales list, after which we strided out to find a sheltered spot for lunch which we found but no one had a long lunch as it was still very nippy! Thankfully everyone managed to navigate the bogs down Black Dyke, then after crossing the main road we walked our way down Top Mere Road back into Kettlewell. Thanks to Peter and Gill.
