10 of us made it up to Coniston for the weekend, there should have been more but with work commitments and health problems a few had to drop out. The weather was not kind to us this weekend, Saturday it was very drizzly and cold and thick mist everywhere which made visibility very poor, 2 were unable to go out on walks due to injuries although they did manage to limp down to the lake,1 went mountain biking around Grizedale, 2 went up Dow Crag and came back frozen and wet through, while the rest of us walked up towards the Walna Scar road heading left to the quarries then down to Torver and made our way back up by the lake to Coniston after having lunch on a wobbly jetty. We celebrated Burns night with a Haggis and a delicious meal by Gill, and Peter gave us a great presentation on the scottish wild haggis, absolutely brilliant and enjoyed by all with a dram or two of whiskey.Woke up Sunday morning with rain lashing down so we all packed up and drove home. Great weekend thanks to Gill and Peter.
