On a beautiful sunny clear day 5 of us left the small hamlet of Calton and followed footpaths to Cowper Cote, then we headed left following paths through the countryside to Winterburn Reservoir where we sat and enjoyed a brew and the view of the birdlife on the reservoir although it is very low, now refreshed we went uphill to to Weets Top and enjoyed great views all around and admiring an unusual stone pillar, after having our lunch stop we headed downhill to the village of Hanlith where we then followed the river back up to Calton, 10miles round trip.
