Burns night celebration at The Pavilion – Grindleton , we had a fantastic piper called Kenny Smith the Pipe Major from Chorley Croft and Culcheth pipe Band to pipe in the haggis then address the haggis in the Robbie Burns way, after Scotch Broth for starter we had of Haggis Neaps and Tatties followed by a dessert of Scottish Cranachan and in true scottish tradition several toasts and responses were made then followed by traditional scottish dancing.
It was a great night out enjoyed by all and a big thank you to Ian and Humph for organising a brilliant event.
It was a great night out and enjoyed by all. Below is a poem by our Chairman Sue:-

What can we say about our Clitheroe men?

They give us a laugh every now and then.

They put up with us women because they see class

And as we’ve just seen, will raise us a glass.

Once upon a time they were thought of as hunks

But due to their snoring we won’t share their bunks.

Age may have touched them but they still cut a dash

When we dress up at Christmas or the CMC bash.

Men Behaving Badly, they can be quite barmy

No longer Likely Lads, rather Dad’s Army

Now time for a toast and enough of the jokes

Whatever their foibles we’ll stick with our blokes.

Marje
