On a nippy cold morning we all met up at Tower Lodge in the Trough of Bowland and headed north to Tarnbrook where we stopped for a brew then carried on following the Wyre Way noticing a very aggressive Turkey stopping around showing off his feathers and also noticed several interesting carved stone plinths. We meandered on past Emmetts and arrived at Abbeystead where we stopped off to eat our packed lunches sitting on well placed stones, after lunch we turned left following the river past Abbeystead House which i think is one of the Duke of Westminsters country residence’s, (very nice) and still on the Wyre Way we made our way past Marshaw Farm and back to our cars, although it was cold first thing it did warm up and the sun did shine for all of 5mins but it didn’t rain so that was a bonus. Thanks Allan.
