Ilkley 2nd June 2016

Flaming June? Not in Yorkshire. Despite a chilly day, 11 degrees at best, 6 of us had a good day on Ilkley Moor. From the Cow and Calf we traversed the edge of the moor, up to the Twelve Apostles and along the paved path to the Trig Point. Beyond there we read but didn’t understand the poem carved on a couple of stones and lunched cowering behind a wall for shelter at West Buck Stones. Reaching Addingham High Moor we turned back towards our destination, passed by the Swastika Stone and returned to our starting point. Next time we’ll go in summer!
